‘LOST’ Star Nestor Carbonell Checking Into ‘Bates Motel’

The moment that A&E first announced that ‘LOST‘ co-creator and show-runner Carlton Cuse was headed back to TV, we started counting the days until a former ‘LOST’ie turned up on the project. With A&E’s psycho prequel TV series ‘Bates Motel’ set to go before the cameras any day with an array of stars already cast, guess what formerly immortal Island-dweller, and Mayor to Gotham City is checking in for a stay at ‘Bates Motel?’
‘Bates Motel’ better make sure it stocks up on the immortal wine, now that Richard Alpert is coming for a stay! We’ve just learned that former ‘LOST’ star Nestor Carbonell has become the first Island resident to book a stay with Carlton Cuse’s new A&E prequel TV series ‘Bates Motel,’ for an undetermined role. Carlton Cuse himself first made the announcement on his Twitter, but didn’t clarify any details of the nature of the role, or its longevity to the series.
The inimitable Nestor Carbonell is checking into BATES MOTEL.I’m thrilled to be working with him again.

Developed by Cuse, âBates Motelâ marks Carlton Cuseâs first genre TV project since âLOSTâ ended in 2010. âFriday Night Lightsâ writer Kerry Ehrin will also join as a writer/EP working with Cuse, with âBates Motelâ taking a kind of âTwin Peaksâ meets âSmallvilleâ approach to telling the back-story of Alfred Hitchcockâs âPsychoâ killer Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore), focusing on the killerâs days as a boy and how his life with his deranged mother (Vera Farmiga) and her lover drove him mad, eventually turning him the killer we know from Hitchcockâs film. Any bets on Carbonell playing the lover?
So, what say you? Will Carbonell join ‘Bates Motel in a regular role following his most recent turn in ‘Ringer,’ or will Richard Alpert’s be a brief appearance? Give us your predictions in the comments!
