The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee are urging parents, teachers, coaches, and other adult mentors to talk to teens about the importance of developing safe driving skills. The reminder comes as DMV and GTSC mark “National Teen Driver Safety Week” through October 21. In September, GTSC announced the Coaches Care contest, which awards $3,000 grants to school districts to teach young people good driving habits.
