Delaware County Flood Watch in Effect for Thursday Into Friday
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, a flood watch has now been issued to run from Thursday afternoon into Friday afternoon for portions of Delaware County. While this watch most likely will apply mostly to northeastern Pennsylvania, portions of Delaware County could also be affected like Delhi and Walton. Heavy rain of 1.50 to 2.75 inches Thursday and Thursday night will result in significant rises on area streams and rivers.
Flooding of small rivers and streams, urban areas, and minor flooding of main stem rivers could develop late Thursday into early Friday.
Widespread rain, heavy at times, is expected Thursday and Thursday night. Flash flooding is possible in some areas, especially urban and low lying areas. There is also an increasing threat of flooding of smaller streams and rivers.
