Among the many family events we have all missed over the year of the pandemic were all of our county fairs.  They were all cancelled due to safety precautions last year and they were missed. Not only by fair goers of all ages but also by the small communities which host these annual fairs.  They provide much needed funds to support each town and villages non-profits, youth groups and community organizations.

In another sign of an approaching normal the Delaware County Fair in Walton has just announced that they are having their fair this summer!  The dates are August 16-21. 2021.

Expect all your fair favorites at the Delaware County Fair this year.  Midway rides for the kids, 4-H events, livestock shows, parades, draft horse exhibits, the popular bicycle giveaways, live entertainment, tractor pulls, cotton candy, fried dough, hamburgers and hot dogs, a cowboy circus and (of course) a demolition derby.  There will also be the Miss Delaware County Fair pageant.

The Fair board has worked tirelessly trying to get the Fair open this summer.  There have been many hurdles to overcome as we emerge fro the most difficult days of the pandemic.  The Fair is going on this year in alignment with the New York State Department of Health current COVID-19 health protocols.

All of us at Townsquare Media could not be happier to see the 134th presentation of the Delaware County Fair returning for this summer.  Let's go to the Fair!!
