Reasons to Change Your Smoke Detector Batteries When Adjusting Your Clocks
When was the last time that you checked the batteries in your smoke detector? I admit that it can be something that we forget to do, along with the lint trap in the dryer. Hopefully by reading this, we do these two things today.
With the change of clocks, we can also change other things in our space as well. First, start with changing the batteries in your smoke detectors to make sure that they are properly working.
Don't wait until the smoke alarm chirps when the battery is low. It will only take a few minutes to do this.
Depending on what kind of batteries you use, you may only need to put in new batteries once a year.
Alarms can wear out so be sure to check on them. If for any reason, your smoke alarm looks yellow, it may be closer to the time of replacing it and buying a new one.
How do you know if your smoke alarm is working? Sometimes when I sage my space, my smoke alarm will go off which for me, is a good indication that it is working.
You may want to test out your alarm in a similar way, safely.
While you're checking on your smoke alarms, take a look at your carbon monoxide detectors as well.
Since it is getting cooler out, we will be spending more time in side with friends, family and loved ones. Let's make sure our space is safe going forward.
